The Inn at Governors Club Policies


Please be advised of our updated policies. 


Rates include a self-serve continental breakfast. If you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know in advance and we will make every effort to accommodate you. 

Rooms come with either a king or a queen bed and private bathrooms. Price is based on double occupancy. A $20 per day per room charge is required for each rollaway used.  Ask about discounts for extended stays.  Rates are subject to change without notice.


Peak seasons are May-June and September-October.  There are no discounts or specials available during this time.  Discounts and specials are not offered for nights after UNC/Duke basketball or football games, UNC/Duke graduations or during holidays. A two-night minimum stay may be required during select weekends or holidays.  A five-night minimum is required for graduation weeks. 


Room rates are subject to a 9.75% occupancy tax. 


Free parking is available in our designated parking lot. 


Check in time is between 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Check out time is 12:00 noon. 
If you need an early check in, please call us and we will do our best to accommodate you.  Reservations will be held until 7:00 pm unless otherwise notified.


Reservations are confirmed with 50% payment at time of booking. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Personal Check, Corporate Check or American Express Travelers Checks.  Credit cards will be processed when the card number is given.  The remaining 50% is due and will be processed 2 weeks prior to check in.


Cancellation made up to 90 days prior to check-in; CREDIT CARDS:  A full credit will be issued to the credit card on file less a $25 cancellation fee.  CHECKS:  If the deposit was made via check, a reimbursement check will be issued within one month of cancellation less a $25 cancellation fee.

Cancellation made 8 to 14 days prior to check-in:  All cancellations made within this time period are subject to a 100% room charge including tax.  A gift certificate for the full amount will be issued.  Certificates must be used within one year of issue date.

Cancellations made within 7 days prior to check-in date:  No refunds, credits or gift certificates will be offered. 

"No Shows" and/or early departures will be charged the full reservation amount including tax. 

*All special packages are non-refundable at the time the reservation/packages are confirmed. 

The Inn At Governors Club recommends that our guests secure travel insurance to cover unexpected cancellation costs. 


Small dogs are allowed with the Innkeepers prior permission.  A dog crate is required for any unattended amount of time.  No other animals allowed.


The Inn At Governors Club is strictly a NON-SMOKING FACILITY. There will be a $500.00 cleaning fee applied for smoking indoors.  Smoking is permitted outdoors in the parking area at least 10 feet away from the building. 

Burning candles, incense or any other devises are also prohibited. 


Rollaways are available as are high chairs and Pack & Plays for an additional fee.  Please let us know ahead of time so that we can have the beds, high chairs or Pack & Plays set up prior to your arrival. 


Well-behaved children are welcome to join other responsible family members over the age of 21.  We offer a relaxed atmosphere for couples and friends wanting to get away from it all while experiencing the The Inn At Governors Club.  Please respect our community and keep children close and quite.


The Inn At Governors Club does not permit on its property the unlawful possession or use of controlled substances as defined under either federal or state law. Unlawful use or possession will subject guests to potential ouster. 


The Inn does not have modifications to accommodate handicapped individuals; however, the lower level rooms can be entered from a sloped sidewalk without stairs.
