Two-for-One Tickets at the North Carolina Museum of Art
For the first time in America, North Carolina used state funds to purchase a world-class art collection from the United States and Europe and make it available to the coastal state’s public population. A hundred pieces of art filled the building that you can now visit this Spring for some exciting exhibits at the North Carolina Museum of Art (NCMA). The forty galleries and collections of NCMA span five thousand years, delving deep into our ancient past while embracing contemporary and abstract forms of art. The famous energy-efficient eco-design of the museum also makes it a frontrunner into the future.
Visit a truly American exhibit this Spring to view Ansel Adams’s exhibit, “Masterworks.” The collection of famous photographs features the stunning natural landmarks that make up our most beautiful and treasured landscapes like Yosemite and Grand Teton National Park, as well as the artificial miracles of engineering like the Golden Gate Bridge. Masterworks runs until May 7th in the East Building on Level 9 and features 48 photos total.
The exhibit Glory of Venice displays Renaissance paintings out of the floating city from 1470-1520 that have been loaned to the North Carolina Museum of Art. Visit this Spring before this prized collection sails back across the Atlantic to Venice. You can find the fifty works in the Glory of Venice exhibit in the Meymandi Exhibition Gallery until June 18th.
Tickets include both exhibits and can be found at the museum’s website.
